Superstar Rajinikanth makes news irrespective of whether he says something or keeps mum. In fact, more news is speculated when he keeps silence on certain issues. Post the Lingaa issue, it is now reported that Rajini’s next film might be directed by the diminutive A.R. Murugadoss, who has had back-to-back successes with Vijay-starreres Thuppakki and Kaththi.

Names of Shankar, K.S. Ravikumar and P. Vasu were mentioned in the press about the possible directors who might direct Rajini’s next film. The latest name mentioned in this regard is that of Murugadoss. In fact, it was expected soon after Murugadoss made his super-duper hit Ghajini almost a decade that he would be working with Rajini but that didn’t happen.
The script that Murugadoss narrated to Rajini was later made as Stalin in Telugu starring Chiranjeevi. In fact, it was Rajini who recommended the script to Chiranjeevi and asked him to star in Murugadoss’ direction. Speaking to newsmen soon after the release of Stalin, Murugadoss said that Rajini told him that they would surely work together in the coming years.
It now turns out that Ascar Films’ Ravichandran would be producing the Rajini-starrer that Murugaodss would be directing. Rajini, who was mighty impressed by the manner in which Ravichandran distributed Shankar’s I, is said to have told him that if he stars in Murugadoss’ film, he should take up the film’s distribution as well. Ravichandran, who had been waiting for many years for a Rajini film, is said to have agreed to this condition.
