Vadivelu was Supposed to do Vijay Sethupathi’s Best Role

Director Nalan Kumaraswamy supposedly wrote the script of the cult classic ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ with Vadivelu in mind to play the main lead character Dass. Nalan who only had a few short films to his credit at that time found it difficult to meet Vadivelu who was at the peak of his career.

The director then made changes to the script to suit Vijay Sethupathi and ‘Soodhu Kavvum’ went on to become a sleeper hit which catapulted the upcoming hero into a bankable star.

Of course, if Vadivelu had acted in the film he would have added his own color to it, but as they say destiny puts the right people in the right place at the right time.

Meanwhile Nalan and Vijay Sethupathi have completed shooting a major chunk of their new untitled film which has promising young Kerala girl Madonna Sebastian as the female lead
