It has been re-iterated by makers of Kamal Haasan’s upcoming film Papanasam that the film would be releasing next Friday (03rd July) in theatres worldwide as planned earlier.

Produed by Suresh Balaji and George Paes of Wide Angle Creations jointly with Rajkumar Sethupathi and Sripriya Rajkumar of Rajkumar Theatres, Papanasam is the Tamil remake of the Malayalam hit film Drishyam (2013) which starred Mohanlal and Meena in the lead.

Kamal’s live-in partner Gautami, who has starred opposite him in many films in the past, makes a comeback in Kollywood by playing a major role in Papanasam.

Trailer and songs of the films, released recently, were a huge hit among the audiences and Kamal’s fans. In Tamil Nadu alone, the film is likely to release in more than 600 halls.

The script apparently narrates emotionally the struggle of a father to protect his family members’ interests at any cost. “On-line advance booking reservation commences from midnight today,” the makers have said.

Some small and medium-budget film producers, who were planning to release their films on 03rd July, had earlier opposed the theatrical release of Papanasam stating that the film’s producers weren’t paying heed to instructions by the Producers’ Council that films starring frontline heroes could only release on specific days. Notwithstanding their opposition, Papanasam is now releasing in theatres next Friday.
